• Allergy Investigation, Diagnosis and Treatment
• Open access and direct referral.
• Accurate testing using quality assured extracts sourced from Dome Hollister-Stier, one of the largest manufacturers of allergy compounds in the world (www.hollister-stier.com). Other extracts are sourced from Stallergenes (www.stallergenes.com)
• Serum IgE and RAST back up if needed but especially when a serious, potentially life threatening food allergy is identified.
• Where there is any suspicion of potential food induced anaphylaxis, confirmatory opinion and strategy management can be arranged with a paediatric allergist.
• Naso-endoscopy. Using an Olympus ENF Type V2 fiberoptic we can assess upper airways (from the tip of the nose right down to the vocal cords) and confirm findings with colour digital images. This can also assess post nasal and pharyngeal airways (especially helpful with enlarged and obstructing adenoids and/or posterior tonsils).
• Before and after colour imaging to support treatment therapies.
• Suggested treatment strategy if requested.
• Dietary advice can be arranged with our in-house dietician Nuala Collins (a member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institution).
• Specific anti-allergy fact sheets depending on test results.
• Result interpretation, e.g. high IgE levels with specific inhalant allergen identification allows consideration of therapy such as Xolair, the anti-IgE asthma compound (respiratory physician referral required). Large wheal and flare responses on skin prick testing guides decisions on Sub Lingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) such as Staloral or Grazax, new and exciting alternative therapies to antihistamines and intra-nasal steroids.

We can accommodate two patients from the same family on the same day but this must be booked in advance so extra time is allowed.

Costs:

• Allergy testing (40 extracts: dust mites, feathers, cat hair, dog hair, horse hair, tree pollen mix, silver birch pollen, grass pollen mix, timothy grass pollen, cladasporium mould, milk, egg, wheat, soya, potato, rice, oats, oranges, kiwi, avocado, banana, beans, beef, chicken, pork, lamb, tomato, rye, barley, corn, peanuts, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, sesame, cod fish, shrimp, tuna, salmon) same day results, personal consultation, fact sheet and suggested management: €300 (2 patients €400)
  If, on the day, a digital image is recorded and you would like a personal copy then an
  additional fee of €25 is charged.
• Allergy test (40 extracts as above) with personal consultation, fact sheet, suggested management and a fiberoptic inspection of nose, sinus, throat and even vocal cords. Digital colour image(s) passed on for personal medical records or for family doctors:) €350
• Fiberoptic inspection of nose, sinus, throat and even vocal cords. Digital colour image(s) passed on for personal medical records or for family doctors: (allergy testing not included): €200

Please note that the follow up consultation fee is €65

Cost comparisons: a blood allergy test (RAST) costs €33 + 21% VAT for each individual sample. So for the 60 test group as detailed above a similar RAST rack would cost €1320 + 21% VAT
