Heart Watch Clinic

The Heartwatch Clinic at Slievemore is run by Dr Conor O’Toole and Nurse Lita Griffin. This Government funded initiative intervenes positively in patients who have had heart related incidents (a heart attack, angioplasty or the insertion of a stent). It involves quarterly monitoring of risk factors and close inter-reaction between patient and doctor. It is an extremely effective prevention program. If you feel you qualify for Heartwatch (or would like to be assessed in a similar way) please contact Nurse Lita Griffin at 01-2831143.

Cardiographs (ECGS) & Pulmonary Function Test

Slievemore Clinic offers heart and lung function tests, including Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs). An ECG can help your doctor determine if there are problems with your heart. It may identify irregular rhythms, strain or heart damage. Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) evaluate how the lungs function. Such checks are useful in diagnosing such chest problems as emphysema and asthma. They are particularly effective in monitoring the benefits of medication. Talk with the doctor or nurse if you feel you should have one of these tests
