Slievemore Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic is based Stillorgan, Co. Dublin. It is part of multi-disciplinary team in Slievemore clinic, which dedicated to provide the highest possible care for its patients. Kiera Brown runs the Physiotherapy clinic here and is a Chartered Physiotherapist.

Kiera graduated in 1998 from UUJ School of Physiotherapy. After working in the NHS hospitals in Ireland and Scotland for 3 years, she specialised in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy (treating back /neck/ joint pain and sports injuries).

Kiera also graduated from UCD School of Physiotherapy with a Higher Diploma in Acupuncture in 2002. In 2004, she trained as a Body Control Pilates Instructor through their London academy. She has specialises in the rehabilitation of injuries (low back pain/ neck pain and joint pain). She teaches rehabilitation exercises in a clinical setting and in small groups.

Kiera uses a combination of hands on treatments, electrotherapy, acupuncture and exercise to resolve pain and restore normal movement. There is also an emphasis on increased physical fitness and health awareness.

Patients attending the clinic vary from those with sedentary lifestyles to competitive athletes.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a health profession concerned with how the body functions (works) and moves. Chartered Physiotherapists are dedicated to ensure well-being of people after injury, pain or disability. They are also involved in injury prevention and helping the body to reach its potential.

Chartered physiotherapist complete 4-year university degree and are educated to the highest standards. Chartered physiotherapists are committed to continued professional development (CPD) so as to maintain high and up-to-date standards of care.

What to expect from treatment?

The overall aim is

Physiotherapy sessions

  • The session last up to 30mins
  • A GP referral is not required for making an appointment

Can I reclaim my physiotherapy expenses?

Visits to Chartered Physiotherapists in private practice can be reimbursed by all major health insurance companies. You should refer to your particular plan for further details.

You may also obtain tax relief of physiotherapy fees by completing a Med I form at the end of the tax year and submitting it to the Revenue Commissioners.
